作品について / About the Work
日常の中で見落とされがちな瞬間や、心の奥に残る感情を、音楽から受け取った感覚とともに再構成した作品です。
タイトルの「Time Is On My Side / 時間の折り目」は、The Rolling Stonesの楽曲「Time Is On My Side」から着想を得ました。
「時間は、いつか味方になってくれる」。
そう感じられるのは、これまで歩んできた時間そのものが、今の自分の輪郭をつくっているからなのかもしれません。
積み重なった時間は消えてなくなるのではなく、人生の中に小さな折り目のように残り続けます。この作品では、その折り目を、重なり合う素材や絵具の層として表現しています。
表面に見えるわずかな段差や、剥がれた層の奥から見える色には、日常では意識されにくい記憶や感情の痕跡があります。
荒々しい紙片や複雑なマチエールも、単なる質感ではなく、そこに至るまでに積み重なった時間の厚みとして存在しています。
すぐには見えない小さな隙間や奥行きの中に、時間とともに静かに変化してきた感情の痕跡を感じてもらえたらと思っています。

This work reconstructs overlooked moments from everyday life and emotions that remain beneath the surface through sensations received from music.
The title “Time Is On My Side” was inspired by the song of the same name by The Rolling Stones.
The idea that time may eventually become an ally led me to think about how the time we have already lived continues to shape who we are.
Accumulated time does not simply disappear. It remains within us like small folds, gradually forming the contours of our lives. In this work, those folds are expressed through overlapping layers of material and paint.
Subtle differences in height, partially peeled surfaces, and colors appearing from beneath the layers suggest memories and emotions that are often difficult to notice in everyday life.
Fragments of rough paper and complex textures also function as traces of accumulated time rather than purely visual effects.
I hope viewers may slowly discover the stories held within the small gaps, layers, and depths of the surface, and sense the gradual transformation of emotion over time.

この作品は、楽曲の内容をそのまま絵に置き換えたものではありません。
「Time Is On My Side」という言葉から感じた、時間に対する前向きな感覚と、過ぎてきた時間が現在の自分をつくっているという思いが、制作の出発点になっています。
音楽の中で同じフレーズやリズムが繰り返され、少しずつ印象が変化していくように、この作品でも素材や絵具を繰り返し重ねています。
重なった層は、過去を隠すためのものではありません。むしろ、その下にある記憶や感情を抱え込みながら、新しい表面をつくっていくものとして存在しています。
時間が進むことで、過去の出来事の見え方が変わることがあります。この作品では、そうした時間による感情の変化や、積み重なりそのものを画面の中に残そうとしています。

This work is not a literal visual interpretation of the song.
The phrase “Time Is On My Side” suggested a positive relationship with time and the idea that what we have lived through continues to shape the present.
Just as repeated phrases and rhythms in music can gradually change the way we experience a song, layers of material and paint are repeatedly added in this work.
These layers are not intended to erase the past. Instead, they hold memories and emotions beneath the surface while allowing a new surface to emerge.
As time passes, our understanding of past experiences can also change. This work explores that gradual transformation of emotion and the accumulation of time itself.
